Birthday (from Lost and Found)

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, 2005

Summer 2004, and the Neterva stone bridge in Mostar is being rebuilt. Two girls of the same age are growing up in the divided town – one in the Moslem-Bosnian part and one in the Christian-Croatian part. Contact between the two still hostile communities is virtually zero, despite the bridge building project.
