Google Baby

Israel, 2009

A journey across three continents telling the story of the up and coming baby production industry in the age of globalization. An Israeli entrepreneur proposes a new service – baby production. He provides customers with a cost effective solution, using outsourcing of the surrogacy element to India as way to lower prices. Sperm and eggs are purchased online and multiple embryos are produced and frozen. Only the embryos that fit the customers’ preferences are shipped by air to India – where they are implanted into the wombs of local surrogates. Google Baby won the first prize at DocAviv festival 2009 and is participating in the Toronto film festival 2009.

After the screening of Google Baby there will be a discussion On Surrogacy and Ova Trade
