The AssociationFounders of Women in the Picture Association Members of Women in the Picture Association
The Women in the Picture Association was founded in 2004 by Naama Prizant Orpaz and Anat Shperling Cohen. The International Women's Film Festival is the Association's signature project. It functions as a unique stage for voices and perspectives of women-filmmakers from Israel and from around the world, and grants an extraordinary opportunity for direct encounters with and among filmmakers, for female debate on various issues, and of course, for watching a variety of films. This year the festival will take place from November 7-13, 2011, where more than 60 films directed by women from Israel and the world will be screened. During the last year, the association has broadened its activity in the periphery: at the end of the festival in Rehovot, the festival’s films were screened at the cinemateques of Sderot, Jerusalem, Holon, Hertzelia and Rosh Pina. The Women in the Picture Association wishes to thank the supporters and partners of the International Women's Film Festival in Rehovot: first and foremost to the municipality of Rehovot and the mayor, Mr. Rahamin Maloul, to the Ministry of Culture, members of the Film Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Authority for the Advancement of the Status of Women at the Prime Minister's Office, the Deputy Minister for the Advancement of Young People, Students and Women Ms. Gila Gamliel, and to all other bodies that support the festival year after year. Thank you very much.
