The International Women's Film Festival is the Association's signature project. It functions as a unique stage for the voices and perspectives of women-filmmakers from Israel and from around the world, and grants an extraordinary opportunity for direct encounters with and among filmmakers for female debate on various issues, and of course, for watching a variety of films. This year the festival will take place between 1-7 September 2010, where more than 50 films directed by women from Israel and the world will be screened. During the last year, the association has broadened its activity in the periphery: at the end of the festival in Rehovot, the festival’s films were screened in the cinemateques of Sderot, Jerusalem, Holon, Hertzelia and Rosh Pina. The Women in the Picture Association wishes to thank the supporters and partners of the International Women's Film Festival in Rehovot: first and foremost to the municipality of Rehovot and the mayor, Mr. Rahamin Maloul, to the head of the culture portfolio in the municipality Mr. Shuki Kremer, the Ministry of Science, Culture and Sport, the Film Council, the European Union, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Authority for the Advancement of the Status of Women at the Prime Minister's Office, the Deputy Minister for the Advancement of Young People, Students and Women Gila Gamliel, and to all other bodies that support the festival year after year. Thank you. |
