Biography
Graduated from the Department of Film and Television and Journalism Studies Diploma Program (1986) at the Tel Aviv University. Weiss-Berkovich is the creator and screenwriter of several drama series that broke Israeli rating records, such as Inyan Shel ZmanMerhak Negia and Kavanot Tovot. Won the Minister of Education and Culture Award for Directors and Screenwriters (1998), and the Television Academy Award (2007) for her script for Merhak Negia. During the years 1985-1993, she was writer and editor at Hadashot newspaper. In the debut of her career she directed documentaries. She was the head of the scriptwriting department at Sam Spiegel Film and Television School and was then appointed chief editor at Keter Publications. Today she lectures at the Tel Aviv University and works as a literature editor. She edited books by Amos Oz, Zvi Yanay, Yair Lapid, Shemi Zarhin, Nava Semel and many others. Weiss-Berkovich serves in selection committees of different funds for drama and documentaries, and participates and serves as judge in international and Israeli film festivals.
