Morvern Callar

UK, 2002

21 year old Morvern Callar works at the local supermarket. On the morning of Christmas she wakes up and finds the body of her boyfriend who committed suicide on the kitchen floor. She opens his Christmas present, wears a jacket, takes her walkman and goes to work. She decides to tell everyone he left her and the town, when nobody really understands why. She returns home and finds he left her money in the bank and his unpublished book on a CD. She replaces the author's name with hers and sends it to a publishing house, and hides the body in the closet. The publisher offers Morvern a sum she had never dreamed of.
