Reut

Israel, 2011

Seventeen year old Reut winds up on the streets and gives birth to her first son, who is immediately taken away by the welfare authorities. As she fights the state to regain custody of her son, she meets a Palestinian man, marries him, moves to his village,  and gives birth to two more children. In the meantime an impossible relationship develops between her and her first son's foster family, a religious family living in a Jewish settlement in Gush Katif. Reut's introverted character is revealed; all she really wants is a place she can call home, but her life is full of surprising turnabouts, right up to its tragic end.
