Women Art Revolution!USA, 2010
In the mid-sixties, a group of women artists, curators, and scholars came together to protest the exclusion of women’s art from museums, galleries, and academia. Parallel to the anti-Vietnam protests, and inspired by the civil rights struggle, they began operating in a number of focal points across the U.S. They succeeded in establishing the Feminist Art Program at the Californian Institute of the Arts – the first academic platform devoted to the subject. After that came magazines, workshops, and traveling exhibitions, all of which served to raise consciousness and interest. ![]() Documentary | Video | 83 Minutes | Color | English, Hebrew subtitles Director: Lynn Hershman Leeson 11/11, 11:30 Get Tickets
