A Film Unfinished

Israel, 2010

The black and white images of the Warsaw Ghetto engraved in our minds, as a documental print of the tragedy that occurred there, are mostly taken from one of the cruelest and most mysterious propaganda films made by the Nazis. The production of the film, shot a month before the evacuation of the Ghetto, was never completed. By revealing the truth behind the making of the film, and by confronting the images with the victims’ testimonies, the film unravels the illusive connection between memory, visual documentation, and the inconceivable truth.
