Melissa–mom and Me

Israel, 2010

Yael and Melissa met seven years ago, while working as strippers in Japan. Yael, an Israeli photographer, filmed their blooming friendship. During the filming Melissa revealed her story and told about her abusive father, her three abandoned kids, and mostly about her feeling lost in the world. In 2009, after meeting film director Limor Pinhasov, Yael decided to travel to the US and see how Melissa was doing. In the years that passed Yael became a respected artist, got married and seems to be doing well. In the US we find Melissa struggling one day at a time.
