Snow![]() Bosnia/Germany/France/Iran, 2008 1997. A few women live in a small half-abandoned Muslim village on the mountains of east Bosnia. The war has ended two years ago and the women still hope that the men: husbands, fathers and sons, will return to the village. Without the men, it is hard to make a living. Until the war they never provided for themselves; now they barely survive on raising and selling fruits and vegetables. Alma , a hardworking modest young widow, wants to earn money and has an original idea; but she must first make the rest of the mourning women in the village believe in themselves. One day a German businessman appears, interested in buying the land, but Alma is not ready to give up her dream of independence. Snow is the first film of Sarajevo born director Aida Begic. It is a beautiful, delicate and inspiring film, dealing, among other subjects, with post-trauma, with the human ability to start over, and with women who discover their power. ![]() Fiction | 35 mm | 99 Minutes | Color | Bosnian, English & Hebrew subtitles Screenplay: Aida Begic & Elma Tataragic in Collaboration with Noémie de Lapparent 9/9, 19:00 10/9, 19:00 11/9, 13:00 Get Tickets
