Hounddog

USA, 2007

11 year old Lewellen, a small child with a big soul, lives with her religious strict grandmother in Alabama of the late 1950’s. Her wild and admired father comes and goes and his women change between one violent outbreak and another. Lewellen admires Elvis Presley and she herself has a rare singing ability. When Elvis arrives to town Lewellen is ready to do whatever it takes to get a ticket for the concert. She does not realize how high they price is going to be… In her second feature, Independent-American director Deborah Kampmeier continues in her unique and provocative way and creates a painful and hard film about growing up, yet one full of charm, compassion and comfort.

After the screening the director Deborah Kampmeier will meet with the audience.
