Biography
Valérie Donzelli was born in Vosges department in France and studied architecture. Her first cinematic experience was in Martha... Martha of Sandrine Veysset, in which she played the main role and for which she won the Michel Simon Award. She also won awards for 7 ans of Jean Pascal Hattu in Florence and in Torino. In 2007 her first short film, Il fait beau dans la plus belle ville du monde, was released, and in 2008 it was chosen for the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs festival. Her first feature film La Reine des Pommes was selected for multiple festivals, including the Locarno festival and the Premier Plans d’Angers festival, where it received the public's award. Valérie has just finished directing her short film Madeleine et le facteur and is currently working on the script for her second feature film.
