Yaelle Kayam Biography Yaelle Kayam was born in 1979 in Israel. Before entering the field of filmmaking Yaelle studied Anthropology at the Tel Aviv University. Her love of traveling led her to move to Melbourne, Australia, where she took the Bachelor Degree film program at the Victorian College of the Arts. On her return to Israel she was admitted to the third year of the Sam Spiegel Film & Television School. Her first film, Pralines, was screened in Karlovy Vary and Haifa film festivals. She has also directed a few short documentary films and took part at the Adam Minsckiewicz Institute documentary project "New Gaze" in Poland. Diploma, her graduating film, was awarded the third prize at the Cinefondation, Cannes Film Festival 2009. It was screened in numerous festivals around the world, and was purchased by Canal+.
